Hardware

Hardware

Before installing LRM your system must satisfy minimum hardware requirements.

  • Dedicated server or virtual server
  • Multi-core processor (64-bit required for implementations larger than 2,000 subjects)

Note: Subjects may be tangible IT assets (such as servers and workstations), intangible IT assets (such as software or databases), physical resources (such as data centers and work areas), and non-IT resources (such as processes and people).

  • Memory (determined by the number of subjects) as follows:
  • For fewer than 2000 subjects: 4 GB RAM dedicated to Risk Manager.
  • For 2000 – 10,000 subjects: 8 GB RAM dedicated to Risk Manager.
  • For more than 10,000 subjects: more than 8 GB of RAM dedicated to Risk Manager. Contact Lynx Support to assist you with determining the amount of memory that implementation in your computing environment will require. This is determined on an individual basis.
  • 50 GB free hard drive space

Note: To improve processing speed a 7200-RPM drive is recommended.

Operating System

Operating System

LRM supports the following Microsoft Windows Server® operating systems.

  • Windows Server 2003, Web Edition with SP2 or later (x86)
  • Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition with SP2 or later (x86)
  • Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition with SP2 or later (x86)
  • Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard Edition with SP2 or later (x86)
  • Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise Edition with SP2 or later (x86)
  • Windows Server 2008, Web Edition with SP2 or later (x86/x64)
  • Windows Server 2008, Standard Edition with SP2 or later (x86/x64)

  • Windows Server 2008 R2, Standard Edition (with or without Hyper-V)
  • Windows Server 2008 R2, Enterprise Edition (with or without Hyper-V)

Important: A Windows Server 64-bit operating system is required for implementations of more than 2,000 subjects, because of memory requirements.
