Lynx and Ballard Spahr Executives Elected to AZ Technology Council Board of Directors

Rick Hlavka, CEO of Lynx Technology Partners, and Travis Leach, partner at Ballard Spahr, join world-class board of directors dedicated to advancing Arizona’s technology industry

PHOENIX–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Continuing to expand its influence and reach in Arizona’s technology community, the Arizona Technology Council today announced it has appointed Rich Hlavka, CEO of Lynx Technology Partners, and Travis J. Leach, partner at Ballard Spahr, to its board of directors. The current board includes 35 members — five of whom are officers — representing a diverse set of prominent Arizona-based organizations.

Hlavka has spent many years as a senior executive in the security software space. Prior to Lynx Technology Partners, he served as vice president of Global Sales at Interset. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of Business Development for HEAT Software (formerly FrontRange & Lumension aka PatchLink). Before joining HEAT Software, Hlavka held a number of management and executive leadership positions at Lumension, including senior vice president of Business Development and Worldwide Sales, where he was instrumental in successfully growing the sales force from a startup into a world-class, international team.

During his sales leadership tenure, Lumension (PatchLink) revenues grew over 900 percent in a 2½-year period. Moreover, since assuming Global Business Development, OEM and alternative revenues has grown over 400 percent. Additionally, under his sales leadership, Lumension ranked as the 14th Fastest Growing Company on the Inc. 500 for private businesses.

Leach focuses his practice at Ballard Spahr on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on public offerings, private placements, corporate governance matters, Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents a number of public and private companies in a variety of matters.

Leach is co-practice leader of the Emerging Growth and Private Capital Group and assists in leading the firm’s Sports practice. He counsels professional sports organizations, ownership groups, athletes, coaches, and entertainers in contract and licensing negotiations and various other individual and collaborative business ventures.

An active participant in the community and area, Leach is also an actively involved member of the Arizona Governor’s Council on Spinal and Head Injuries, the Arizona Coyotes Foundation, the Veteran Tickets Foundation (national nonprofit, nongovernmental organization devoted to giving back to the U.S. military and veterans), Arizona State University’s Sports Law and Business Program, and Tallwave’s High Tide program.
